What We are About & Ways to Support La Mosca

The La Mosca Invitational Fly Fishing Tournament was founded in 2020 to create a highly competitive fly fishing tournament in the Lower Laguna Madre that raises money to support efforts in protecting our local waters, to bring greater awareness to the quality of the resource, and to set an example for no-kill tournaments in south Texas. In just a few years, we feel like we’ve made major strides to accomplish those objectives and to establish ourselves as a legitimate fly-fishing tournament. In that short period of time, La Mosca has been able to raise and donate over $15,000 to FlatsWorthy, a Texas based grassroots organization focused on education and important pieces of legislation that contribute to the sustainability of our fisheries.

Through our invitation-only rule, and by limiting the entrants to 25 teams, we maintain a competitive atmosphere that has caught the attention of well accomplished captains and anglers who want to compete at a very high level. Last year’s winning team posted an impressive 292” on 10 redfish over the two-day tournament. With this level of competition, a limited number of teams, and the quality and size of the Lower Laguna Madre, we see minimal turnover among our field of anglers. At this year’s tournament we are proud to announce that there will be teams competing from Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, the Coastal Bend, and the Rio Grande Valley representing involvement from a large percentage of our state. Hosting and sustaining a first-class tournament has always been and remains our number one goal. While we are self-sustaining, we could not support FlatsWorthy without the support of sponsors. We have been very fortunate to have received tremendous support from fly fisherman and friends who are invested in the success of our tournament and purpose. While we are grateful for their support, we feel we can take our tournament to the next level by broadening our sponsorship base and engaging with companies such as yours.
Your sponsorship of La Mosca not only contributes to an important cause, but it also helps us solidify our purpose and provide a company like yours access and exposure to some of the best saltwater fly-fishing captains and anglers in the state. Beyond the acknowledgments mentioned below, you will be recognized here on our website as a sponsor of the tournament, and thus receive exposure and special mention throughout the year to our followers on social media. We have specific sponsorship opportunities listed below, but we are grateful for any support your organization is willing to give, including donation of promotional or auction items. SPONSORSHIP PACKAGES

• F&B Dinner Sponsor: The tournament hosts an exclusive dinner for our captains, anglers, and guests at South Padre Island’s finest restaurant on day 3. This sponsor will receive company or individual recognition at the dinner, promotional opportunities throughout the tournament, and four dinner spots - $6000
• T –Shirts with Company Logo: This is an exclusive sponsorship for the display of a company logo on the tournament T-Shirt, which also includes the tournament and FlatsWorthy logo. The tournament Comfort Colors T-shirts sponsor cost is - $1200

• Photographer and Book with Company Logo: La Mosca hires a professional photographer to take pictures on the water throughout the tournament. This sponsor will have your company logo on the annual photo book that is sold through Shutterfly- $1000

• Registration (Party): Registration will once again be held at Tequila Sunset. This sponsorship will be for a bar tab at registration and we will recognize you and your company for providing the drinks - $500

• After Fish Cocktails (Bar Tab Thursday) - $500 in PM or SPI
• After Fish Cocktails (Bar Tab Friday) - $500 in PM or SPI

• Tournament Fish Measuring Sticks: Each team will receive one custom wood fish measuring stick. This sponsorship will include having the company logo on the measuring stick along with that of FlatsWorthy and La Mosca - $1500
• Tournament Koozies: Tournament Koozies: Each team will receive tournament logo koozies and this sponsorship includes the company logo printed on the koozie -$400 
• Tournament Score Card with Company Logo: Every team receives an official tournament score card printed on card stock to document their catches. This sponsorship will place your company logo on the scorecard - $250
